Because repairs to a number of points were necessary, fewer goods trains could run for some time. After an extra survey, a quick recovery proved possible. Tonight, some more repairs will be carried out at the Botlek Tunnel, Barendrecht and the Maasvlakte yard.
Test trains
To check the condition of the track, ProRail regularly deploy test trains. This also happened on the harbour line. This showed that a number of points, especially in the Maasvlakte yard, needed to be repaired. After that was done, train traffic could resume.
ProRail regrets the inconvenience caused. We are familiar with infrastructure problems. The Infrastructure In Order programme should ensure that the infrastructure is put back in order. We are working hard on that.
