Manual shunting is possible in the three remaining shunting yards still in service. The other three yards are not available for an extended period due to renovation work. An alternative logistics plan for Kijfhoek has been developed in collaboration with the carrier DB Cargo. Given the circumstances, this plan has been functioning satisfactorily so far. Monitoring is in place, and adjustments are made to the logistics plan as necessary.
Regarding the repairs, extensive measurements have been conducted in the equipment and cabling over the past week to determine the exact damage to the humping system. This information is currently being analyzed, and a repair plan is being formulated based on it. The technical and logistical feasibility of the repair plan is being assessed. In consultation with Volker Rail, it has been decided to shift the maintenance schedule at Kijfhoek (excluding the hill tracks) from Thursdays to the quieter Mondays to further reduce disruption to freight transportation and sorting processes at Kijfhoek. This adjustment will be in effect no later than week 41. Until then, any remaining Thursday maintenance schedules that are not immediately required will be scheduled to minimize disruption to traffic.
